Net monthly income is arrived at by determining gross monthly income and then subtracting the following:

  1. 20% of earned income.
  2. Standard deduction based on counting only eligible household members in determining household size as follows:
  3. 1 through 3 person household - $160.00
  4. 4 person household - $170.00
  5. 5 person household - $199.00
  6. 6+ person household - $228.00
  1. Allowable medical deductions in excess of $35 for elderly or disabled household members.
  2. Childcare and dependent care costs.
  3. Child support paid.
  4. Shelter costs in excess of 50% of net adjusted income. Shelter costs deducted cannot exceed $535.00.
